I constantly think of stuff to jot down here, mostly for my own amusement and memory since I'm pretty sure there are like two people who ever read this, but I never actually remember to do so. So, here's a few things from the past weeks that have occurred to me:
1. Snow + my two kids and my wife = FUN. Had a blast doing some snow tubing last week up in Maggie Valley.
2. I believe that Pat Robertson should probably just stop commenting on any and all natural disasters and other tragedies. At some point along the way it seems he may have forgotten that Jesus tended to judge the religious folks a lot more harshly than those who didn't know God. Plus, judging the past of another country while whitewashing your own country's is a bit hypocritical.
3. Watched Julie and Julia last night with my wife. Wasn't really sure about it going in but it was a very good film. And honestly, while sometimes I get tired of hearing how great Meryl Streep is (she is a great actress, just tired of hearing it at times), she's absolutely amazing as Julia Child. She just was Julia. It didn't seem like she was acting at all and she seemed to take such joy in the role. I've got to think she's a strong contender for a Best Actress Oscar (again).
4. Seems that freaking out over a few dropped snaps in the first day of practice might not be the best or most thorough way of evaluating Tim Tebow's talent. Maybe he makes it in the NFL, maybe he doesn't, but first practice, new center, new coach, new plays; seems like it could be just an adjustment period. Isn't that what practice is for? Unless you're Allen Iverson that is.
5. And speaking of Tim Tebow, isn't the freak out over whatever this Super Bowl ad is in which he's supposed to speak/share a bit premature and even misguided. I'll predicate this by saying that I have my own issues with Focus on the Family (alleged sponsor of the ad), so this is not some pro-FotF deal. It sounds to me like this ad is essentially Tim and his mom's story, how she decided not to abort Tim after being encouraged to do so (because of health issues and risks), and the wonderful result of that decision; namely Tim's existence. Wow, what a terrible story to tell. How tragic. I understand that some groups are worried about the anti-abortion stance of the ad, okay, but for women's rights groups to protest this and ignore Victoria's Secret, Go Daddy.com, and many beer commercials that are created with the most sexist, misogynistic, and derogatory overtones and images seems a bit hypocritical and misplaced. The story of one woman exercising her right to choose to give birth to her son and the resulting joy and importance of that decision for her and many others hardly seems a threat to the rights of women anywhere.
6. Maybe Urban Meyer should decide to retire every year, so that we he can not retire, and then land the best recruiting class perhaps ever put together.
That's it for now. Bye.

Hey! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this
website? I'm getting tired of Wordpress because I've had
problems with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
